they are quite low .. For xCOMPOSER.pro and its presentations you will only need a PC with Windows®
95 or newer installed on it. A Pentium® or compatible x86 processsor should be used. The graphics
adapter should display atleast 256 colors but 65.000 are much better. The installation requires
approximately 20 MByte free disk space. A CD-ROM drive is required to do the install from a CD.
![]() Question 03: What are the advantages of xCOMPOSER.pro V3.0?
There are many advantages. First of all - xCOMPOSER.pro is very easy to use. You will not need additional
training in order to create complex and fascinating presentations. Usually multimedia authoring
systems are quite complicated. xCOMPOSER.pro is not. ![]() Question 04: Which kinds of presentation are supported?
You can save three different kinds of presentations. Most popular is it to save an executable file (*.exe)
which will run on nearly every PC. Screensaver applications for Windows® are also supported. They get
the extension (*.scr). In certain cases it is a problem to distribute EXE or SCR files due to security reasons.
In this case it is the best way to save the multimedia presentation as a plain data file with the extension (*.xpp).
Such a file cannot be run standalone. You will need xVIEWER to play
XPP presentation files. xVIEWER is available for free.
![]() Question 05: What means the term "installation-free" presentation?
With xCOMPOSER.pro you can save multimedia presentations as an executable file. Similar to other software
normally a installation would be required to run the presentation on a particular computer. Presentations
created with xCOMPOSER.pro do not. All parts required to run the presentation are inside the presentation file.
The only one thing needed is a PC with Windows® 95 or newer installed on it. Additionally no file will be
copied to your hard disk if you run the presentation. This is very important due to several reasons. There
are many computers not allowing the user to do any installations. Because xCOMPOSER.pro presentations do not need
any kind of installation they can run nearly everywhere.
![]() Question 06: Which system requirements are required to view the presentations?
For executing the created presentations you will need only a 486 CPU or higher, and a graphics adapter with at
least 256 colors. For playback you need the operating system Windows95 or higher and for using video clips the
corresponding AVI-Codec / MPEG engine from Windows. DirectX or similar components are not required.
![]() Question 07: How much space is used by the created presentations?
Very few. While saving the presentation as executable file (*.exe), the viewer part needs only about 450 kbyte.
The remaining space is completely available for the data of the presentation.
![]() Question 08: What is the difference between XPP and EXE format?
It is common to save presentations as executable file (*.exe). This ensures the execution without
installation on most existing PC's. The EXE-file contains the viewer and the presentation.
Alternatively you can store the presentation also as pure data file (*.xpp).
This file must be played by xVIEWER.
